Volcanova – Stoner Rock Powerhouse from Iceland
Formed in 2014 by Sam and solidifying their lineup in 2018 with Dagur and Steini, Volcanova brings a unique blend of fuzz-laden riffs, thunderous grooves, and infectious energy. With all three members contributing distinct vocals and seamlessly executing tight three-part harmonies, their sound is as dynamic as it is powerful—keeping listeners hooked from start to finish. Their music balances heavy, headbanging basslines with soaring guitar solos, all tied together with a tasteful dose of cowbell.
The band has made their mark on the live scene, completing two UK tours and playing numerous shows across Iceland. In 2020, Volcanova released their debut album, Radical Waves, followed by the 2022 EP Cosmic Bullshit, both through the Swedish label The Sign Records. The releases garnered international attention, earning rave reviews in the rock and metal press—including an 8/10 rating from Metal Hammer UK for Cosmic Bullshit.
In 2022, Volcanova embarked on a 21-date European tour supporting The Vintage Caravan, bringing their high-energy performances to fans across the continent. The momentum continued into 2023, with more European shows met with enthusiastic crowds and growing recognition.
With a reputation for electrifying live shows and a sound that blends the best of stoner, desert, and heavy rock, Volcanova is ready to take on the next stage—wherever the riff-filled road leads them.
